Live Blogging from the Hospital

by Melanie Bettinelli on March 03, 2008

Yes! They have wi-fi!

I wrote a blog entry before we left the house; but I guess I forgot to hit post cause I don’t see it here.

I started having contractions every ten minutes at 2:30 this morning.  Very hard to sleep; every time I drifted off, I’d have another pain. I sent Dom on to work because they weren’t getting any more frequent. Then about 20 minutes after he’d left, my water broke so I called him back.

I went back to bed for a little bit, couldn’t sleep. Got up and puttered around, made breakfast, fed Bella and got her dressed. Then as the contractions were getting into the 3-5 minute range decided to call the doctor and head to the hospital. Of course now that we’re here things have slowed down again. Waiting for the doctor, hoping he’ll let me eat; but he probably won’t.

So I’m doing my crossword puzzle, checking my email on Dom’s laptop and wishing I’d brought my own. And wishing I’d stayed home longer before coming in. Ah well. I’ll post news when I have any.

It’s funny enough that Dom is live blogging the delivery, but to find that you’re live blogging it—that’s hilarious.

Praying for you. Get up and move if you can. I know how hard that is in the hospital, but if your water did break, the baby’s head might be blocking the exit and keeping the fluid from leaving and that can stall labor. My third one did that to me. Once we got her to move out of the way, labor picked up again.

Praying Melanie! And hoping Sophia has already arrived.

Ah no! That would be a quick labour. It seems the comments are showing your time not mine wink. Praying anyway.

Thanks, everyone.

I got up and did some pacing while waiting for them to bring my lunch. That seems to have got a few more contractions going. Now that I’ve eaten, I think I’ll go roam the halls and look longingly at the babies in the nursery.

I just posted a new entry with updates.

Thanks for all the prayers. Keep praying!
